Tory Hartmann had a template-based web site when her screenplay was picked up and filming began in March 2008. We put a polished and professional site together that now shows off her work, past, present, and future.

Author Phyllis Mattson needed an Internet presence to publicize and sell her book online. The site provides press coverage, reviews, and a calendar of Phyllis's many personal appearances. scp

Author Laurel Anne Hill originally hired me to do a small site to showcase her short stories and to get the word out about a novel she was shopping to publishers. In the meantime, she wrote another novel, which was picked up by KOMENAR Publishing. Her book came out in October 2007. We re-designed her website to promote the new book.

California Writers Club (non-profit):

I've been a member of CWC for more than 10 years. In 2004, I found myself suddenly in the freelance web design business when the San Francisco Peninsula branch of the California Writers Club asked if I could take over their site. A few months later, I added my own branch, South Bay Writers, to my client list. I still maintain both branch sites plus the state site.

The biggest challenge of doing the CWC sites is when the branches hold a writers conference. SF/Peninsula puts on the long-popular Jack London Writers Conference and South Bay hosts the fantastic East of Eden Writers Conference in Salinas. Fortunately for me, the two conferences do not coincide.

The content comes in fast and furious as the organizers build their lists of speakers, workshops, and events. Each author, agent, and publisher has a bio, head shot, book cover images, and web links. The conference schedules and workshops seem to change almost right up to the last minute. Online registration can be complex, depending on the number of options the conference offers, but it's definitely a feature worth having.
